Abstract

In this editorial, I am discussing two of the most common myths related to publishing in top journals. A myth is defined as a traditional story about historical events that serves to unfold part of the world view of a people or explain a practice, belief, or natural phenomenon. Opinions to elaborate on this editorial were gathered from 54 researchers located in both developed and developing countries. As expected, their thoughts and ideas covered many aspects that may be considered myths, but the majority tend to agree on the two presented here. For each case, I provide supporting thoughts and objective facts that either confirm or disconfirm the myths.
