Abstract




This research had the purpose of examining the relations between the following variables: motivation, locus of control, gender, socioeconomical level and the components of the meaning of working. With a sample of 400 subjects in the capital region, employees of a firm establishment of self-processed foods. It was found that the relative work centrality scale was associated with achievement motivation and power, locus of control random, gender and socioeconomic status. The absolute centrality correlated only with gender showed that women gave more importance than men to work. The targets were associated with work motivation the achievement and power, with socioeconomic status and locus of control internal and external, while the results obtained from work only joined the external locus of control. The social component is not correlated with any of the variables.
