Abstract

The article presents a brief description of the evolution of the case method in the world and the characteristics of the use of the case in the classroom. The author describes the characteristics of the cases that accomplish the purpose of generating the learning, skills and attitudes that a decision maker could use when confronted to similar problems and context. The work is aimed to present and introduce the context for understanding this methodology, especially in business schools in Latin America.
