Abstract

This paper analyses the information from the main dimensions of the inter-regional mobility of workers in Chile, which are included in the New National Employment Survey (NENE) for the 2011-2014 period. Using the model for demand and supply autonomy, the Chilean regions are characterized according to their condition of net supplier or net demander, besides an analysis of trend and commuting intensity. Furthermore, the economic impact of the flow of commuters is quantified through the use of mean wage data for occupations and economic activities in the Bío-Bío region.
