Abstract

This article aims to explore the functioning of social representations in networks collaboration. Following the argu- ment that social representations has not been object of relevant analysis at inter-organizational level, we study the case of collaborative networks in the Chilean salmon farming industry. These networks operate by a system of repre- sentations organized in two levels: a central core, the claim of sustainability of the industry, and three peripheral ele- ments, a defense of the industry representation, a representation of the territory where production takes place and a collaborative representation. The article offers an innovative perspective of the role of social representations in orga- nizations.
