Abstract

In recent years, social responsibility has taken on a global connotation, especially in the business world. Social responsibility has become a constant concern for the proper development of organizations, due to the growing demands of the social environment, and influenced by the various investigations that have indicated the positive relevance of carrying out this type of action, in the environmental, social and economic areas. For these reasons, this research aims to analyze the relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and drivers of economic value in Chilean companies that published sustainability reports during the 2011-2015 period, in order to observe the effects on drivers of value in developing socially responsible activities in these organizations. To this end, the sustainability reports that account for the socially responsible practices developed by an organization and, in turn, the annual reports and / or integrated reports were taken as reference. The main finding found is the negative relationship between the dimensions of sustainability and some drivers of economic value, due to the nature of the behavior of the Economic Added Value and social performance.
